If your student union membership is valid, you’re eligible to use the digital student card or the physical student card which you can order separately. (Details below)
Student union membership fees:
- Whole study year 33€
- Single semester (Autumn OR Spring) 18€
- When paying for the whole study year during the Autumn, your membership period will begin at earliest 1.8.2022 and the membership and student card are valid until 30.9.2023.
- When paying only for the Autumn semester during the Autumn, your membership period will begin at earliest 1.8.2022 and the membership and student card are valid until 31.1.2023.
- When paying for the whole study year during the Spring, your membership period will begin at earliest 1.1.2023 and the membership and student card are valid until 31.1.2024.
- When paying only for the Spring semester during the Spring, your membership period will begin at earliest 1.1.2023 and the membership and student card are valid until 30.9.2023.
As a VAMOK member you can use digital student card in Pivo- or in Slice -app. You can download the apps free of charge to your phone from the App store or Google Play. There are all the same national- and local benefits and discounts in both apps, so you can choose which one is more suitable for you to use. For more information please see the details below.
If you still have your physical student card, you can pick up the new sticker for the card when the old one comes invalid and you have paid the membership fee for the next period.
Student card in Pivo app
As a VAMOK member you can use digital student card in Pivo. For registration, you only need your phone number, online bank user identifiers and a payment card from a Finnish bank.
You can download Pivo for free from the app store and you can prove your student status with it- when ever it´s needed. You will get discounts from VR and Matkahuolto as well as KELAs meal subsidy. All Vaasa areas student discounts are also listed in Pivo. With Pivo app you will make quick and easy mobile payments to your friends by using phone numbers – no matter what bank you are using. You may also use it to pay your orders in thousands of webshops.
Slice.fi- mobile student card app
Using the Slice.fi mobile app and the built-in digital AMK student card is free of charge for VAMOK members and all new members will automatically receive login details for the app via email after joining the student union.
By logging into the Slice.fi mobile app with the login details received via email, you get the access to the digital AMK student card which allows you to take advantage of national student benefits, like VR (train ticket discounts), Matkahuolto (bus ticket discounts), Kela’s student meal support, and Vaasa’s local student benefits, which you can find conveniently listed on the app.
AMK student card with the VAMOK logo will also work as an official proof of the VAMOK membership, so with that you will also get the access to VAMOK’s membership benefits and discounts. The new app allows even better possibilities for our partners to offer even wider range of membership benefits, for example significant one-time discounts and limited offers.
Also a VAMOK member studying in the Open UAS (Avoin AMK) can take Slice.fi app into use, and will instead see a digital version of the VAMOK membership card in their app.
From the app you can also find VAMOK’s sport shifts, the menus of Juvenes restaurants in the campus area and VAMOK newsletters, so with the Slice.fi app you will find the information you need conveniently in the same place.
Resetting Slice.fi login details: If your Slice.fi login details have expired (remember to renew your VAMOK membership first) or if you want to take Slice.fi mobile student card into use on a new device, so to the address www.slice.fi/resetoi and enter the email address you used when joining as a member (usually the school email) and click “Resetoi”. After a moment you will receive in your email a link, which by clicking will reset your login details and a new passport will be sent to you via email.
Physical AMK- Student card

With the physical AMK student card you will receive all national student benefits as well as all VAMOK’s local membership benefits.
Students can pick up the ordered student card from VAMOK’s office. We don’t inform students when the cards have arrived so you can come and ask for it after two weeks from the order. Your card is not valid without a term sticker. You can get a new sticker year-around from VAMOK’s office.
The term stickers are valid for a defined period. The sticker for the autumn term is valid until the end of the following January (e.g. the autumn sticker for 2020 is valid until the end of January 2021), a year sticker is valid until the end of September the latter year (e.g. the sticker for 2020-21 is valid until the end of September 2021). The sticker for the spring term is valid until the end of September (e.g. the spring sticker 2020 is valid until the end of September 2020).
VAMOK- membership card (Avoin AMK)
