Tutor recruitment
Tutor recruitment is now open! Would you like to be part of creating an unforgettable orientation for students starting in the fall? VAMOK is looking for active, reliable, collaborative, and positively-minded students to join the tutoring activities.
We are seeking tutors for the following roles:
- Finnish- or English-speaking peer tutors
- Finnish- or English-speaking responsible tutor
- Exchange tutors
Tutor recruitment is open from January 15th to January 26th.
Apply to be a student representative for VAMK’s departmental meetings (KOVAKO) for the year 2024
We are looking for active students who are interested in making an impact and gaining more information about matters related to their own field of study. The representatives are tasked with participating in meetings with the teachers of their respective academic units. These meetings address current and future issues specific to each field of study. Representatives write reports on the topics discussed, which are made available to students on Moodle.
Meetings are held at most once a month, lasting approximately 2 hours. Representatives receive a 50€ fee for each written report.
KOVAKO representatives will be provided with training for the role.

Harassment contact persons
VAMOK has updated its harassment contact person operations. Going forward, the harassment contact persons will be the staff at the VAMOK office. You can contact them via email at hairinta@vamok.fi or by using the contact form available on our website.
If you feel you have experienced harassment at a VAMOK event, you can discuss it in person with a member of the student union board. You can identify a board member by their black VAMOK shirt.
Board game club
Are you looking for something to do on weeknights? Welcome to VAMOK’s Board Game Club! The club gathers every other Tuesday at 17.00 at VAMOK’s sauna to play board games. There is no need to register separately for game nights -just show up. The club is open to all members of the student union.
Spring semester game nights: 23.01., 06.02., 20.02., 05.03., 19.03., 02.04., 16.04., 30.04.
Sports shifts
VAMOK’s spring semester sports shifts are underway. The sports shifts offered this spring include floorball, futsal, volleyball, and badminton. The badminton shifts has been relocated from Merenkurkun koulu to Provarinkadun koulu at Porvarinkatu 13-15. 65100 Vaasa. VAMOK’s shifts at the Wasa Sports Club continue as usual. The change in job titles at VAMOK
VAMOK’s role titles have been revised by the Student Union’s representative council. The titles of Educational affairs coordinator and Social affairs coordinator have been streamlined for clarity. The new titles are Advocacy coordinator (education) and Advocacy coordinator (well-being). With the change in role titles, email addresses have also been updated. The new email addresses are education@vamok.fi and well-being@vamok.fi.
